Cambridge Pavers For Driveway & Patio
Hi Susan,
Our patio dimension is approx. 12X18.
We have sandstone (Beige) vinyl siding with deep reddish brown shutters. You can say the shutters match our Japanese Bush.
We are interested in using Cambridge pavers in the Sherwood Collection - Ledgestone III Sahara/Chestnut for the patio, and we were advised not to use it on the driveway.
However, I also like the look of tumbled (Renaissance) for both the patio and the driveway.
I would appreciate your advise.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Thank you!

ANSWERHi Karen,
I am not familiar with the Ledgestone Cambridge pavers, but I have used the Rennaissance. It's a great paver...very natural looking and stone-like in appearance. I think it would be a nice choice. The random sized pattern is particularly attractive (3 or 4 different sizes). I think it would look better if you stayed with one paver type for both the patio and driveway.
It would be a good idea (if you haven't already) to bring home at least 8 paver pieces and look at the color of them near your house to make sure the color fits.
For the driveway, since they are typically large, you might consider edging it with two rows of pavers, adding a circle kit, and/or adding another color. In addition, you could do the driveway in asphalt, add a paver apron at the entry, paver edging, and paver circle kit.
Take a look at my page on
paver driveways.
As for the patio, you could use some of the same ideas, such as a double soldier course (edging) at the patio perimeter. Twelve feet is rather narrow to fit a circle in though. You don't have to add another color...that was just an idea.
